Second Grade - Seriously?

Today is the first day of school for Goosey. Can I tell you how excited she is? She was so ready to go back for second grade...she wanted to go back LAST week.

We all piled into the vancar in the early morning and headed over to campus. We were able to squeeze most of her supplies into her backpack with only her lunch box to tote. We went into the Learning Cottage (a nice name for a mobile unit) and got her settled in. She was super ecstatic to discover that her best friend Molly will be sitting directly across from her...at least until they are separated for talking. =)

Little Man did not fare so well. He started to act out and cry a bit as we left the room. I think he was sad that Goosey got to stay. So we came home to drop Daddy Mac off and Little Man and I headed to Dunkin Donuts for a treat before heading to the library to play computers and be around his "peoples".

My heart hurts a little. Goosey is starting to become VERY independent. She has gotten her ears pierced and takes care of them like a pro. She is now washing her hair on her own and is maintaining her room so that a person can walk around. She likes to read, so she is off reading by herself alot. I sometimes feel useless.

That is until someone screams from the bathroom..."Mommy! I need some assistance in here! Mommy, it's me....Little Man!"
